Care and Repair in Powys can provide you with free advice, information and support to enable you to continue to live independently in your home in safety and comfort.
Often this will be through a personal visit by one of our experienced caseworkers to your home. We will listen to your needs and suggest a package of information and repair or adaptation.
The welfare rights aspect of the agency’s work is very important. The Agency can assist you in maximizing your income with a free Benefit Health Check. Our caseworkers have successfully made claims on behalf of individuals for benefits such as pension credit, attendance allowance, housing benefit and council tax benefit.
As well as advising on the completion of application forms, the caseworker can carry out any necessary follow-up telephone calls, correspondence or advise on appeals.
Care and Repair in Powys can advise on welfare benefits only for individuals receiving other housing advice or assistance from the agency.
If Care & Repair in Powys is able to help then we will
- Help you fill in forms for benefits and deal with the administration of the work
- Give confidential advice about welfare benefits to ensure you are getting your full entitlement and assist you to complete application forms
- Advise and help to make applications to other sources of funding, whenever possible, including benevolent funding
There is no obligation to accept the advice offered; all decisions about the work and your finances ultimately rest with you.
